The Bilderberg Group

Documented Active
Est: 1954
Attendees: ~150 per year
Status: Annual Meetings

Overview

The Bilderberg Group, also known as the Bilderberg Meeting or Bilderberg Conference, is an annual invitation-only conference of approximately 120-150 guests from North America and Western Europe. Attendees include political leaders, experts from industry, finance, academia, and the media.

The meetings are held under the Chatham House Rule - participants may use information received, but may not reveal the identity or affiliation of the speaker(s). No minutes are taken, no resolutions are proposed, no votes are taken, and no policy statements are issued. The complete secrecy has led many to believe this is where real global policy is decided, away from democratic oversight.

For decades, mainstream media barely acknowledged the group's existence. Journalists who covered it were labeled conspiracy theorists. Today, while the meetings are acknowledged, the contents remain completely hidden from public view.

"We are grateful to the Washington Post, the New York Times, Time Magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost forty years... It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subjected to the lights of publicity during those years."

- David Rockefeller, Bilderberg Meeting, 1991 (attributed)

"The world is now more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government. The supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national auto-determination practiced in past centuries."

- David Rockefeller, Address to Trilateral Commission, 1991

Origins & Founders

The first Bilderberg Meeting was held at the Hotel de Bilderberg in Oosterbeek, Netherlands, from May 29 to 31, 1954. The group was founded during the Cold War, ostensibly to foster dialogue between Europe and North America.

Key Founders

Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands

Founding Chairman (1954-1976)

Former Nazi party member and SS officer who married into Dutch royalty. Chaired Bilderberg until forced to resign after the Lockheed bribery scandal.

Joseph Retinger

Founder & Political Fixer

Polish political advisor with ties to intelligence services. Known as "the grey eminence" of European politics. Conceived the idea of Bilderberg.

David Rockefeller

Steering Committee Member

Chase Manhattan Bank chairman and CFR leader. The most prominent American member for decades. Also founded the Trilateral Commission.

Denis Healey

Steering Committee (1954-1992)

British Labour politician who later admitted: "To say we were striving for a one-world government is exaggerated, but not wholly unfair."

CIA Involvement

Declassified documents reveal that the CIA helped fund and organize early Bilderberg meetings. The American Committee for a United Europe (ACUE), a CIA front organization, provided financial support. General Walter Bedell Smith, CIA Director, was involved in the planning.

The Secret Meetings

Every year, approximately 150 of the world's most powerful people meet for three days at a luxury hotel. The location changes each year, rotating between Europe and North America.

What Happens

  • Complete Lockdown: The entire hotel is secured. Armed security, police, and sometimes military personnel patrol a wide perimeter. Attendees' phones are allegedly collected.
  • Media Blackout: Despite many media executives attending, there is virtually no mainstream coverage of the actual discussions.
  • No Public Agenda: Only a general list of topics is released. No transcripts, no recordings, no detailed reports.
  • Chatham House Rule: Participants can never reveal who said what, ensuring complete deniability.

Notable Attendees (Partial List)

  • Bill Clinton (1991 - before becoming President)
  • Tony Blair (1993 - before becoming Prime Minister)
  • Angela Merkel (2005 - before becoming Chancellor)
  • Emmanuel Macron (2014 - before becoming President)
  • Barack Obama (reported informal meetings)
  • Henry Kissinger (regular attendee for decades)
  • Bill Gates (multiple meetings)
  • Jeff Bezos (2011, 2013)
  • Peter Thiel (2007, 2008, 2011)
  • Eric Schmidt (multiple Google meetings)

The Career Elevator

Numerous political leaders attended Bilderberg meetings shortly before rising to power in their respective countries. Critics argue this is where candidates are vetted and approved by the global elite before being "selected" rather than elected. The pattern is too consistent to be coincidence.

Bilderberg and the European Union

Researchers have documented extensive evidence that European integration - the EU, the Euro, and related institutions - was planned and promoted at Bilderberg meetings decades before public discussion.

Documented Connections

  • 1955: Bilderberg discusses "European Unity" as primary agenda item
  • 1957: Treaty of Rome signed creating the EEC - many signatories were Bilderberg attendees
  • 1973: Britain joins the EEC - Edward Heath, who negotiated entry, was a regular Bilderberg attendee
  • 1992: Maastricht Treaty creating the EU - key architects were Bilderberg members
  • 1999: Euro currency introduced - longtime Bilderberg agenda item finally realized

"The Bilderberg Group helped create the EU and the single currency, and their goal is a transatlantic common market... The EU is merely a stepping stone to full globalization."

- Daniel Estulin, Investigative Journalist and Author of "The True Story of the Bilderberg Group"

Official Acknowledgment

In recent years, Bilderberg has been forced to become slightly more transparent:

  • Now publishes an official website with attendee lists
  • Releases general topic outlines (but no details)
  • Some mainstream coverage now acknowledges meetings exist
  • However, actual discussions remain completely secret
